Elder Boy asked me a question during dinner.

EB : Dad, did you know what happened today..
At school?

I : Would you like to tell me?

EB : I asked the top student about their mark.

I : Why did you ask?

EB : Just checking if I'd a Higher mark.

I : Had you?

EB : No. I got 2 marks less.

I : Were you disappointed?

EB : No.
But I just couldn't stop telling myself....

I : Telling yourself?

EB : I've to get 2 more marks than X in ....,
1 more mark than Y in....., and
Perform better than Z in......

Younger Boy started a chat.

YB : To make things easier for you,
I change the rule.

I : Sorry, rule?

YB : Yes.

I : Yes, you did.

YB : Now I change it to a day.
Make it easier for you.

I : It's very kind of you.

In the morning of my Elder Boy's birthday,
He started a chat.

EB : It's my birthday today, Dad!

I : Happy birthday!
You're a year older now.
Well, what does a year older mean to you?

EB : A year older, a year bigger!

I : Yes. But also,
A year older, a year wiser.

EB : Yes. I'm 12 now.

I : Your life would  never be the same.

EB : Really?

I : Yes, because you're now officially...
'A Man'.

EB : A Man? Yes!

I : 'A Man' according to airlines, hotels.
Because at 12, you're now charged at adult price!

EB : Yes, I'm NOT a Child of 11.....
But a Man of 12!

I : Is that right, 'Man'?

Easter Sunday, lying in bed.
Younger boy playing in my room.

I : Could I make a deal with you?

YB : Let's see.

I : 2 points for you if you massage me 2 mins.

YB : Alright. Deal.

I was lying flat in bed.
He was putting hands on my back.

YB : Wait, dad.

I : You're not changing your mind?

YB : No. Could you count for me?

I : Count?

YB : Yes. Like this.
That's how it goes for 2 min.
30 seconds for neck & back.
15 seconds for each arm.
30 seconds for each leg.
Tell me when time's up  for each part.

(Gosh, Massage's for Relaxing.
 How can one relax when counting?
 Alright...have to cheat a bit.

My Elder Boy & I were shocked.
Watching the Japanese Disaster.

Later that night, we had a chat.

EB : Dad, it could be the time..
to buy some Japanese Yen.


I : Why?

EB : Remember what'd happened..
in NZ recently?

I : Oh, yes, NZ had an earthquake.

EB : You told me NZ$ dropped...
very shortly after the earthquake.
But it soon rose back.

I : So, you think this could happen..
to Yen this time?

EB : Yes.

I : How much should I buy?

EB : Well, it's up to you.

I : But, it's your idea to buy.

EB : But you said there's always..
risks in any investment.

I : Alright. I'll take the risk.
I'll make a small buy.
What if Yen rises later.
Should I share profit with you?

EB : Yes, of course!

I : But it's me making the Decision.
It's my money buying the Yen.
Why should I share profit with you?

EB : But, you just said it,
It's my IDEA to buy.

I : O.K.
If there's a profit, it's split 50/50.
I'll donate my profit to a charity..
for Japanese Disaster Victims.

I : I've a good news & a big news for you.
Which one do you want to hear 1st?

EB : It's your choice.
Which one do you want to tell me 1st?

I : No.
You can choose which one 1st.

EB : I've an idea.
What about NOT telling me which is which?

I : What do you mean?

EB : What about just tell me the news.
Let me decide which 1 is bad, which 1 is good?

I : Alright, if that's what you want.
Its' about your piano theory test.
The test is about 2 hours.
And after this one at Grade 5,
The next & last one is at Grade 8.

EB : Both are NOT bad news.

I : Why?

EB : Because I've already known this.
Music teacher told me at school today!
