While having dinner at home,
I asked Elder Boy a question.

I : Do I have a catch phrase?

EB : Yes, you've 3.

I : Oh, really?

EB : Yes. The 1st one is :
'There's goods news and bad news.'

I : And you always ask me back right away.
My reply always is : tell me bad news 1st.

EB : That's true.
The 2nd one is :
'Didn't I tell you that?'

I : That's true....hahaha...
And the 3rd one?

EB : 'Do you know what just happened?'

I : Very true.....hahaha.
And what's your catch phrase?

EB : You know...

I : I know?

EB : Yes, it's just,
'You know'.

Choice

While planning our family/business trip,
I asked Younger Boy about accommodation.

I : Where do you think we should stay?

YB : What're the Choices?

I : OK. We've 3 Choices.
1: serviced apartment near aunt.
2: serviced apartment near granny.
3: same hotel we stayed last year.

YB : How much would each cost?

I : Well, let me put it this way.
Choice 2 is 50% more than Choice 1.
Choice 3 is double Choice 1.

YB : Well, I'd pick Choice 1.

I : OK. Why?

YB : You keep telling us the world's...
Economy is bad, so you know...

I : I know?

YB : Yeah, you know...
It's better not to overspend.
And save some money.

Self-entertainment.
No need to get more 'like' on Facebook.

It's joyful.

Easy

I always remind our boys :
Never do things the Easy way.
Because it's always not the best way.

Criticising others is Easy.
But only learning from others' Right & Wrong,
Could make our students becoming better & strong.

Generalisation is Easy.
But only putting detailed practical plans in place,
Could make our students progressing at a good pace.

I :  A uni graduate works in Amazon.

YB : Really?

I : Yes, for £7 an hour, 12 hrs a day.

YB : Which uni did he go to?

I : Cambridge.

YB : Which subject did he study?

I : Music.

YB : Hm......

I : His elder brother had a Maths degree,
Also from Cambridge Uni.

YB : Really?

I : Yes. His elder brother also got a...
Master degree in Computing Science.

YB : Wow!

I : But he could NOT get a job at Amazon.

One of the questions,

I often ask my boys is,

If there is a problem,

And those meant to deal with the problem,

Walk away or not deal with it wholeheartedly.

What would they do?

Now I'm asking myself the same question,

Pretending nothing has ever happened?

Because my boys are now at secondary.

Accepting nothing can ever be changed?

Because our education system is failing.

What about changing our mindset?

Rather than hoping something may happen,

Sometime in future by someone that cares,

Could we stop giving up & start stepping up?

That's what I'm planning to do from Mar 14.

Start offering free help to local children,

Within 5-minute walk of my home;

Every term time Fri between 1605 &1715 hrs,
When my boys learning piano at home,

I'm to visit 2 children from 2 local families.
